  • Kid Swim Advanced 1: Hunter College

    Advanced students will learn arm strokes, leg kicks and breathing coordination. This will also include rotation, treading water, submerging and changing direction. Instructors will teach the fundamentals of the backstroke and freestyle stroke, accompanied by rotary breathing. They will also learn the basics of the butterfly and breast stroke.

  • Kid Swim Beginner 2: Hunter College

    Swimmers will continue to learn rhythmic breathing, gliding and kicking on front and back in order to build up a tolerance for distance swimming. They will begin to roll over from front to back in the water and vice versa. Students will learn to coordinate their arm and leg movements, as well as to jump and dive from a sitting position.

  • Kid Swim Beginner 1: Hunter College

    Over the course of this class, students will learn how to breath in and out of water, float on front and back without floatation support and submerge underwater. They will also be able to push off of pool wall, glide and flutter kick, on their front and back.

  • Kid Swim Advanced 2: Hunter College

    Students move confidently in deep water, perform sculling, continue to improve stroke technique, refine details of breathing and arms actions of front crawl and backstroke. Learn kicks and arms coordination in breastroke and butterfly. Begin to develop starts and turns.

  • Kid Swim Advanced 2: Leman Manhattan Prep, Lower School

    Students will focus on developing confidence and competency in all strokes and safety skills. They will be formally taught the breast and butterfly stroke, as well as deep water bobbing, sculling and diving.
